We usually spend about £50 on each child.

I've already bought him the Playmobil pirate ship for £25 at tesco.

He LOVES lego but has loads and loads having just had his birthday.

He is currently using a balance bike really well so maybe its the year of the bike?!

If not, any other ideas??

In fact, have no idea how much a bike costs!! (probably more than £25 methinks)

Maybe you could get a second-hand bike? He absolutely will not care that it's not new. I think it's a great idea if he's just had a lot of toys for his birthday.

(My 5yo ds is currently riding his sister's old disney princess bike - we painted it black and I got a couple of star wars decals for it and he is thrilled with it!)

The pirate ship is enough surely? I'd just get a couple of little things like a book or a jigsaw and a DVD maybe

CDMforever · 04/11/2011 14:32

Yes I suppose I don't want to end up buying something just for the sake of it!

I also thought about a marble run from ELC. My eldest DS used to have one and played with it for hours.

Another option is a game for the DS tho a bit boring to open!

Ds is almost 5 and the thing he seems to most want is the imaginext t rex, a lot of his friends say the same.

Does he like cars the movie? The bigg finn mcmissile is about 25 I think.

Other than that a second hand bike would be a great idea. Even askk on freecycle and if you got one toysrus do nice horns / spoke decs etc...

cjbartlett · 04/11/2011 15:21

My ds (7) loves ds games, not too boring to open at all

pramsgalore · 04/11/2011 17:06

lol, the argos catogue is the most read book in the house for the dc's, full of different coloured circles and crosses, i agree it is the book of dreams plastic tat Grin

curlycat · 04/11/2011 18:56

Smyths have got loads of army things - not HM Armed Forces but similar and cheaper - my ds is 7 and loves it all

CDMforever · 04/11/2011 21:19

Yes he did mention an Imaginext dinosaur thingy now I think of it - its been so enlightening coming on MN!

Thanx all, it actually transpires that he does want quite a few things!
