Oh I am loving the bath crayons idea. I can imagine DS saying, "Oh no, a big big mess!"

But perhaps then our elves might be tempted one day to draw a comedy indelible marker pen eye-liner moustache on our DHs?

Can I join too! I think this is a lovely idea, DS is 5 and will think it's great.

I love the idea of him arriving on the first and bringing the DC's advent calenders - ours will probably be one from e-bay too rather than an official one.

DH is a bit skeptical but I know once our elf arrives he will get more into it than anyone and will think up more and more daft things for him to do each night. I'm already liking the idea of toilet papering the Christmas tree and doing a snow angel in flour.

Does anyone know if food colouring will dye the toilet? We only had the bathroom redone last year and DH will not be impressed if I dye the toilet bright red

I started reading this thinking what is everyone on about as I've never heard of EotS before - now I'm so excited, I've ordered my Aurora elf and am going to have trouble containing myself until December to start with the elf antics.

You are all much nicer than me! We told DS1 that the burglar alarm magic eyes were CCTV for Santa, when he started to play up we'd just point to it and he'd stop!

He is now grown up and not psychologically scarred as far as I know!

fantus, I am sure your DH will get on board! I don't know about the staining of the toilet. I'd say not, as so many people seem to have done it, and I have not seen any warnings. Don't hold me to that though!

I'm so excited my ... I mean DD's elf arrived today. I wasnt sure about paying for the 'offical' one but its lovely and the book is really nice and it looks like it'll last for a long time.

I am currently watching a few elves on ebay but I think we might go for the Aurora one too. When I first mentioned it to DH he gave me a face until I explained he would have to think up more and more outlandish things for the elf to do, then he gave me the face. He is the biggest kid in the house and loves Christmas so I can imagine our little elf getting up to all sorts.

I showed DS the youtube video with the voice over man reading the story - he got really excited and is already talking about trying to spot the elf when he comes to visit.

I think I might have to get DS a little scrapbook so we can take pictures and he can write little comments in it. Something for me to sob over when he finally leaves home
