Christmas cake alcohol question!

Finally going to make my Christmas cake this weekend using Delias recipe. I have been raiding the alcohol cupboard and found some Cognac. Is this the same as brandy, can it be used for the Christmas cake? I also found some whiskey if thats any better.

I'm more of a wine drinker!

You can use anything really, but I'd say cognac would be better than whisky. Good luck.

I use whiskey every year in my delia cake- bloody lovely. Use it in my mincemeat too. Actually I wouldn't use anything else.
