I will be going to poundland for the stocking fillers for my 2 boys. Cars, Pencils, drawing books, etc etc...cant wait to actually start shopping :)

Clary · 31/10/2011 00:24

Oooh tatty teddy tissues a good idea for DD's stocking.

stationery always good too - I struggle to find stocking fillers for Ds1 (12yo!)

I got some good bits on PL but I shopped on a Saturday (having never been before) and it was bonkers. I will go on my day off next time!

Love poundland! My local one is manic though. I need to be there when the doors open otherwise I can end up in there for hours.

I use Poundland for my shoeboxes for Samaritans Purse!!

TheRealMrsHannigan · 31/10/2011 11:38

I just did my shoebox for Samaritans purse from Poundland for £12 and got the following:

Very hungry caterpillar toothbrush and toothpaste
Snow white socks
Toy Story Jessie socks
Winnie the pooh small soft ball
Pack of chubby felt tip pens
Small soft monkey teddy
Small pony/unicorn playset
Pink fluffy winter hat
Rowntree's soft fruit gums
Peppa pig harmonica
small craft pot - 'make your own finger puppets' (so nice I got another for DD's stocking)

I will definitely be gettings lots of DD's stocking fillers from there, the 99p store is also brilliant for children's books.

GypsyMoth · 31/10/2011 11:40

Is Samaritans purse the good one to do!

LottieJenkins · 31/10/2011 11:40

I have got loads of bits from Poundland. Like Toy Story colouring sets, Cars yo yos, pairs of Spiderman socks. I confess that I love Poundland.

DO they have anything for older boys (i.e 13 and 11 -almost 12). I am really struggling with the DSes this year.
So far they have each got
1 bottle shower gel
1 tin of deodorant
boxers (marvel comic ones I got in sports direct)
a tube of maltesers

DS1 has also got a Stig keyring (M&S sale alst year)
and DS2 has got a pack of 3 rubbery plasticy kind of watches (sports Direct again, £1.99 for the 3)

TheRealMrsHannigan · 02/11/2011 09:33

Saltire, they have quite a good book section, it changes quite often but you might see something your DS's are interested in.

They also ahve lots of toileteries, sweets and stationery so I'd say it's definitely worth a look for stocking fillers.

So far I have collected

  • Peppa Pig and George towelling socks
  • Bath set with one of those scrunchy things
  • silicone moulds for baking
  • decorate your own notebook set

£5.00 bargain!

I'll be going again.

I hated it when Poundland opened in the biggest store in our high street. I think it looks bad. For stationery stuff for chidren though it is amazing. We live off it in half terms and holdays.
