British childrens' TV on DVD

I live in Italy and want to give DS (11) some DVDs for xmas.

We are up to date on Dr Who/SJA/Roman Mysteries/Horrible History etc, are there any other older kids series that are worth considering?

I keep hearing about a teen vampire or something, but can't find anything similarly named on Amazon.

I did spot Melin, as a teen, is that any good?

I'll even go for aussie/american series ...... as long as they are availble in the right for at.

Ds loves Merlin although I haven't watched it myself and he also Liked Robin Hood here

I think you might mean Buffy again I haven't watched it but my kids have.
