Does your DS play with Sylvanians?

DS1 (5) has requested Sylvanians for Christmas! I have no problem with getting them for him, my only worry is how much will they get played with given the price.

Does your DS play with them?

my 3 ds's (5,3,2) have my old ones - they do get played with occassionally but playmobil is more popular... if he's specifically asked for them then maybe be he will play with them more, mine were just given them when I found them in the loft!
What has he asked for? compromise with buying one family?

DS (4.6) plays with DD's hotel and animals but insists on undressing them first. Not interested in the clothes at all - not realistic enough I suppose.

my ds had them when he was 6....played with the sporadically. They were the ONLY thing on his christmas list that year. [hhmm]

recommend you find second hand.

He has also asked for the playmobil school which is £££ but manageable. I did think this might have more longevity but his preference is for the Sylvanians.

Maybe we'll get him the school and my mum could get him a small set and a family. Just don't want him to be disappointed as DS2 is getting what he's asked for Confused

My four yr old ds plays with his sister's. And one of his friends has asked for some for Christmas too.

Lovely to see him actually as he is very much a stereotypical boy most of the time!

Could get him the Sylvanian school bus to go with the school perhaps. Isn't it nice when they're not too early into guns and robots? I am dreading all things Ben10

My DS(10) still plays with them from time to time! His sister is the one who now is most into them, but it was DS who first started collecting them and is adamant that no-one else is allowed to use his Sylvanian characters/house! My younger DS(5) got some Sylvanian things for his birthday and has asked for more for Christmas. To be honest, they all love them.

No, but only because we don't have any. He does play with Happyland, etc, so bet he would play with Sylvanians given half a chance.

DS2 (7) has some and I've just today bought him the windmill. He's been asking for it for ages.

TBH, I'm happy to encourage this kind of imaginative toy as his brother who is 9 has asked for a phone and two age-inappropriate games for Christmas. Hmm None of which he is getting.

i've bought DS (3) the cottage and cow family for christmas this year, he plays with sylvanian families all the time at nursery and comes home talking about playing with the animals.

He loves playing with my old dolls house at my parents so i think they'll be a hit.

Thanks for all your responses! I've actually got the Hotel reserved at Argos at half price but I'm having second thoughts.

Any suggestions for a smaller house?

I just got the school for DD (5) as it has 1/3rd off atm. Then rellies can get the accessories to go with it. ( about £10-£15 each ).

DS (8) plays with all DD's Sylvanians occasioanlly, when no one is looking. [hgrin]
