12 year old boys

DS asked for one thing for christmas. A drum kit, which I have now bought. I need to make up his presents to the same value as DS2 though but there is nothing else he wants! He doesn't play sports or anything.

Any ideas? I'm thinking ipod points or whatever they're called?

In similar situation.
DS wants "something that will impress my friends"
but he's not into music or sport, barely uses the phone he has.
etc.
Luckily he still likes Star Wars Lego, but reckons he has enough Nerf guns for now.

how about something like a driving lesson? as long as you are over about 4'6" tall, there will probably be one in your area. That's what we did when stuck. Won mega peer points... round us there are a number of options of where to do it and length of lesson, so prices vary. I'd also considered clay pigeon/rifle shooting, as would be reasonably cool. Ie we've now gone for the event rather than the object (keeps the house tidier too). And others eg grandparents now joining in with sighs of relief.

Or you could take him to a fantastic drums concert or subscribe to a specialist magazine .

Another thing we've done is agree a budget for redecorating his room, in part as his present. He gets to choose within that budget (hopes vainly this will teach him the use of money, price comparision da da da).
