How do I make an alien costume for the school nativity?

I don't have an artistic bone in my body but it seems dd needs an alien outfit before December. Any ideas on where I start to make something she is not mortified to wear?

Green t.shirt.
Green leggings (who knows where from, maybe white ones you can dye?)
Green wooly hat with deely boppers on top.

I'm sure I'll regret asking but which is the "Alein" role in the Nativity?

I've had to make an alien costume for a play before.

I got a length of green sequinned fabric and folded it over to make a simple tunic tied with a matching sash (no sewing!) and topped it off with deely boppers, green tights and a nearly grown-out-of pair of ballet shoes coloured green with hilighter pen.

Other children did similar (in green or silver) or reused tabards with shiny discs (old jam tart cases?) attached.

Oh - and there were a couple of lads in Star Wars costumes.

I'd certainly regret hearing about the "alein" role

Thanks for the ideas so far. Thank God for a school that gives me lots of notice. It seems the aliens in "Christmas with the Aliens" love the nativity story. Dd is not very impressed about being an alien - she would like to be Mary or an Angel so I'm going to need to make it as attractive an alien as possible .

How are you getting on? I have to do a similar thing for my little girl and she is very fussy - thanks for all the ideas - I am not creative either
