i've decided for christmas that i want special presents, not just clothes and toiletries! so i'm trying to come up with ideas - and i'd like them to remind me of people, events etc, ie memories as a present! my kids are now 3 and 6 so i know i want one of those silver necklaces with a heart pendant for each child with their name and fingerprint on which i can wear every day. what have you been given by family/friends which makes you smile every time you see it?

My kindle! Love it and use it every day - also the lovely hot pink cover DH bought for it.

Also photo frames, albums and nice stuff for the kitchen as I love cooking and appreciate a bit of quality.

Op you have to look at the personalised section of not on the high street. Lots of lovely personalised pictures especially.....

How about a nice charm braclet? So far I just have the silver braclet with one of these on it but it's something that can be added to over the years.

How about asking for a photo shoot for the family? I always make my own calendar every year through photobox so is always something to make me smile in the kitchen!

some great idea here thanks. i think i would love a kindle so that's worth looking at. i also like the idea of a charm bracelet which can be added to, and i shall definiltey look into doing my own calendar rather than buying one this year. would be lovely to look back at photos from the same month in the previous year.

I like Photo Books - I did one my self with my wedding photos and there are now loads of places doing them.

You upload the picture and then arrange them and they send you the finished item in the post BRILLIANT I am addicted.

You can also get mugs and stuff too but the photo books are like doing someone a personalized scrap book with out all the glue and glitter!!!
