My daughter has a dsi, cheap mobile phone and an I pod so I am really struggling for a main present this year. She is starting to like clothes more ie superdry, hollister etc they are not that cheap to buy!and I wasn't wanting to buy her clothes her grandparents usually give her some money so she usually saves it to buy clothes. Any ideas would be very helpful thanks

Mine (will be 12 in March) has asked for a Blackberry on contract, a laptop, and a sewing kit! Whether she gets anything but the sewing kit will depend on certain criteria...

GCFan - no - she's never wanted one of those and as I'm 50 she'd have more sense than to ask.

It is something living though.

Thanks again everyone for the ideas look like the blackberry touchs are popular but I am trying to put her off that one! She does like crafty stuff so maybe the Harumika clothes design may be a good idea.GrimmaTheNome okay sorry about my last guess what about a pony, puppy, guinea pigs, fish, stick insects???

We bought DD a phone for when she started secondary. Its a cheaper blackberry-type phone, we paid £30, currently £35 in Argos. It has good reviews and she is pleased with it. Didn't want a contract as she is too good at losing things! (Its also why we didn't buy her a new ipod touch - I said if she wanted a new one she wasn't allowed to take it to school!)

Just realised I called it a Blackberry touch instead of just a blackberry, oops need to get with it all these gadgets I can't keep up!

Thanks MaryBS I have just looked at it in Argos looks really smart and has the keyboard like the blackberry and alot cheaper in price too thanks. She has just started secondary and this is why I am getting the pressure about the blackberry as apparently she is the only one who doesnt have one (in her mind that is it). Oh dear the pressure!!!

DD wanted a BB for her 12th birthday, but I convinced her to get a different phone (LGPop I htink - nothing like a BB but she loves it!)

She wants a laptop for Christmas and would put money towards it, but DH is not at all keen to spend that amount of money (on something she could do her hours and hours of homework on) - we are gently working on him. There is nothing else "big" that she wants.

Those dolls are fooking horrible. Garbage Pail stickers were bad enough, but those are just grisly. 11yo DSD wants a iPod Nano and DVDs, and I think her mum's buying her a netbook.

well, she tried to present DH with a 2-way choice of a puppy or xxxxx (knowing there was no chance of a pup as we already have a dog). Stick insects getting warm....
