his sister has a carry along house(which she never really liked) which he has started to play with alot. so i was thinking that when family ask what to buy him i might suggest some playmobil sets. so what gets played with alot? he loves his brio train set and hot wheels cars and anything toy story as well as his collection of animals in case that helps!

Recycling truck a fave here too (DS1 is 5 now).

Aeroplane is good, but biiiig.

Safari truck with rhino is good.

All the police stuff a hit too - esp if you add in the art/jewel thief set so there are some baddies to arrest :)

But tbh, we are drawing the line with Playmobil for a bit as we have quite a bit with loads of teeny tiny bits and they do my head in as DS1 doesn't sort things the way i would Grin

Also looking into castles btw, but trying to resist PLaymobil, any other tips?

TheMitfordsMaid · 28/09/2011 20:56

We've got the castle and it gets played with a lot. My DSs don't really care what goes with what so the police officers are quite often falling down trap doors in the castle. It took an age to put together on Christmas Day last year, but it kept them entertained for ages.

CauldronsTrulyReign · 28/09/2011 20:58

Could you let me know which castle it is please MitfordsMaid?

The Pirate Ship is half price at Tesco at the moment.

TheMitfordsMaid · 28/09/2011 21:09

It was this one but I don't remember it being so expensive!

tassisssss · 28/09/2011 21:17

ooooh that pirate ship is a great price...

My 2.5 yo plays with the campervan and vets centre every day- we have taken all the teeny pieces out, and he loves playing with them.

HappyAsIAm · 29/09/2011 20:17

I have a 3 1/2 yo boy, and he really loves his Playmobil aeroplane (the one that is on offer in ELC) and the farmyard animals and fencing we have (bought individually). He also loves the swimming pool with a slide and paddling pool that they brought out this year which is about £35, he re-creates holidays we've had in center parcs and aqua parks overseas with it and its been a huge hit.

HappyAsIAm · 29/09/2011 20:19

We've got that pirate ship - it was half price in Tesco in the run up to Christmas last year too. Its a great price. If you're willing to spend more, Playmobil do a few other pirate ships which look better to me. But still, £25 is a great price.

Got a rock castle last Xmas from eBay and it is a huge hit. Ds2 had just turned 4 but my dts are 3 now and love it also. I love it too, tis so much fun, came with loads of people and horses and a dragon. Camper van is no2 in popularity. Every child from 2 to 7 who visits goes straight for the castle. Best £25 I ever spent!
