Hi, any ideas on must haves for 13yr olds, got 2 boys and a girl, no inspiration this year! 2 have i-pods, all have phones etc!

hmm i think it's such a tricky age,

for the girl - paperchase stationary, itunes vouchers, clothes, toiletries, tickets to see a concert/show

boys i have no idea i'm afraid as mine is 3 :)

gillybean2 · 13/09/2011 13:50

Xbox kinect?

KinkyDorito · 13/09/2011 17:04

Mine is a big reader and am contemplating a Kindle.

chirpchirp · 13/09/2011 17:17

From what I've read these are tipped to be really popular this year, if, of course, they have a smart phone.

My DSS has just informed me that he would like an iPad Confused

RatherBeOnThePiste · 13/09/2011 20:20

DD had a kindle for her Christmas at 13 and loved it - she is an avid reader. It has been very successful.

DS is 12 but what he really wants is this extreme camera that you attach to your self as you skateboard and make films that you then put ion the computer. That to me sounds very expensive, we haven't looked into it yet.

triplets · 13/09/2011 23:06

The camers thingy would be popular with two of them, not so bad with my DD as she likes all things girly, its the boys I find hard esp as one isn`t into clothes!

camera for making animated video clips here I have got this for ds who will be almost 13 then.
The children in the clip it shows are younger, but I know ds is desparate to make clips of his mario characters racing etc (like he watches on you-tube) so I think he'll find it good.

bruffin · 15/09/2011 07:44

Ratherbe those cameras are £99

Anything to do with their favorite bands ie artwork, tickets, tshirts etc

clothes

Do they play instruments - sheet music- ?

dd1 wants a sewing machine. I'm getting grandparents to go in with me!

ragged · 15/09/2011 08:19

As an aside, I can't believe how old your trio are getting, OP!

DH has a helmet cam (cycling); that kind of thing is a bit rubbish because the video footage comes out so shakey & mixed, in our experience. Only really good when they come a cropper. Wink

DS1 is nearly 12 but still into Lego, thank goodness.

triplets · 15/09/2011 22:06

I wish they were still into Lego, lovely lego, happy days! Well I did start the shopping y/day..........................a purse from New Look for Beccas stocking.........exciting eh?

my dd 11 years old has asked for an ipad Hmm the kindle sounds great though as she loves reading, just don't know if she prefers a book with pages or not, will have to show her and see her response

valerian · 16/09/2011 15:44

Ukelele. You can teach yourself.

Bellavita · 16/09/2011 15:44

DrDre headphones and an ipad2. That is what Ds2 will be getting (12)

Bellavita · 16/09/2011 15:46

DS1 (14) has got tickets (he doesn't know) to see one of his face bands All Time Low.

He got a new guitar last year - he has taken music as a GSCE.

triplets · 16/09/2011 23:59

James has an electric guitar, been having lessons for a year now. Thomas isn`t into music at all, have thought about getting Rebecca a new keyboard as hers is secondhand and very big, she has taught herself to play it.

Mine's Jack Wills anything

triplets · 18/09/2011 21:45

Whats with this Jack Wills stuff? Becca seems to know all about it, plus on Frid she spent £20 on a Superdry T shirt....................it was just a T shirt advertising their brand!

hatebeingmummy · 18/09/2011 21:59

I know, thats what I tell mine... they get teenagers to spend obscene amounts of money on buying their stuff which just advertises their stuff to other kids!! It's criminal genius!
we only buy it for b/days & xmas round here
