Hi, I am really struggling to think, and as I am stuck in with no car till the end of August, christmas is the only thing making me smile atm Grin

Be prepared to be inundated with soft toys .... dd was 7 days, everyone paniced and bought a present for her DESPITE BEING TOLD NOT TO, and of course the only toy you can a newborn is a soft one Grin

Teddy bears everywhere

MonsterBookOfTysons · 14/08/2011 21:16

LikeaCandle - DD was 8 days old on her first Christmas. We got her a stocking filled with tiny baby stuff - New bibs, teething rings, rattles and those black and white baby books. I think we also got a bigg-ish baby item like a play gym and called it a present too :)

Tillyscoutsmum · 14/08/2011 21:18

DS was born on 15th December and we didn't buy him a present for his first christmas. He had a Thomas ride on for his first birthday though and loved it. It still gets used daily now Smile

LikeACandleButNotQuite · 14/08/2011 21:22

Love the idea of a bauble, will get on that. Any the stocking idea is really cute too. DH said the other day "we havent bought it a soft toy" so I have banned him from buying one as I imagine it will be a failsafe prezzie from others.

Blatherskite · 14/08/2011 21:22

Was he born in 2009 Tilly? Weren't you on my antenatal thread? That's still going you know :)

Thefoxsbrush · 14/08/2011 21:25

I've already bought my little boy's Thomas ride on and put it away (only £14 reduced from £35 at asda). He will be one on 22nd December and instead of getting him a gift for his birthday we're all going to the winter wonderland at thomasland for the weekend. Can't wait!

littlemagic · 14/08/2011 21:26

Got dd (2) a rocking horse from price drop tv the other day for £29.99 which was a bargain usually around £70. Don't know what to get ds (3) yet he really likes fireman Sam so might get his some of that.

Honeydragon · 14/08/2011 21:26

dd was 18th dec 2009 Grin

Blatherskite · 14/08/2011 21:27

My DD was the 17th Dec 2009 Honey Grin

Tillyscoutsmum · 14/08/2011 21:27

He was Blatherskite. I thought I recognised your name Smile. I had a really hard time with him for the first 6 few months and sort of stopped going on the thread because I would just have moaned the whole time Sad Will have to look out for it again now things are a bit calmer Smile

MonsterBookOfTysons · 14/08/2011 21:29

Thomas ride on was a hit for ds, he loved his :)

Honey and Tilly, the December thread is here now. Come back and say Hi :)

We do a fair amount of moaning on there sometimes Tilly, you wouldn't have upset anyone.

MonsterBookOfTysons · 14/08/2011 21:34

Grin at the reunion
My post natal thread is great :)

TrillianAstra · 14/08/2011 21:45

I may not be the first one to say this - but it is August and isn't it possible that what your children would really like might change in the next 4 months?

orienteerer · 14/08/2011 21:45

MonsterBook - thread didn't annoy me, I thought Biscuit was used for a sort of "confused' type emotion. I just used it as was so shocked/impressed that you could be so organised as to be thinking about ChristmasGrin.

MonsterBookOfTysons · 14/08/2011 21:47

Ok Orienteerer :)
Trills that is more than possible! Grin

OP posts:
Honeydragon · 14/08/2011 21:48

ahhhh you need Confused & Shock then. Grin

Biscuit is more of a wtf fuck off emoticon, hence "no comment" Grin

MonsterBookOfTysons · 14/08/2011 21:50

Grin Honey Dragon
It is also often given out to trolls :)

Trillian

That's why Santa was invented .....no guarantees, he decides.

And whether people start buying gifts early or late you will always get at least one thread on here on the 23rd going

"where the fuck can I get a [insert random item here] at this time of night in [insert location] as dc has decided this is the only thing she wants for Xmas as of 30 minutes ago!!!!!!"

I like these threads you will often get a random Mnetter go Oooh we have a pink panda with one leg that we don't use, I'll post it to you next day delivery...and the day is saved.

Honeydragon · 14/08/2011 21:53

Yes Trolls like biscuits

MonsterBookOfTysons · 14/08/2011 21:56

Honey you have made me laugh tonight, Thank you Grin
I am going to bed, not ignoring posts :)

OP posts:
Blatherskite · 14/08/2011 21:56

Biscuit is definitely "no comment" They created it after Gordon Brown (I think) wouldn't tell them what his favourite biscuit was when he came in for a webchat.

It's often used in a WTF type way too.

Confused is for confused :)

Honeydragon · 14/08/2011 21:59

orienteerer · 14/08/2011 22:01

Now I'm reallyConfused, since when did "no comment'' i.e. Biscuit come to mean WTF.......Grin. Either way August is far too early for Christmas stuffWink. No offence was intended to anyone.
