Lapland UK-how old is too old?Lapland UK Kent.

I know the tickets won't be on sale for a while but if I was to go I'd start saving a bit every month (would want to go late Dec which are highest price).
DS will be 12 and DD will be 9.6.
Are they on the too old side of things.
I don't want the cynical little beasts to take the mickey and spoil it for other smaller children who are there.Is it too young for them?They would go to humour me ( I totally do christmas even though they are beyond the FC stage!!)
Trip to Lapland not an option as would have to buy 2 child and 1 adult passport.

I guess only you know how your kids react to Christmas, My stepson (12, nearly 13) is well past FC stage, but he would enjoy it, and if we'd have done it when he was 9 he would have had an amazing time, other 12 year olds I know would not be impressed at all.
The thing is as well, if you enjoy it will they get swept up in it all, because of your enjoyment ( I have to say it's so nice to meet someone the same, I loooooveeee Christmas so much, and the whole buildup)
Sorry its not a definate answer, however I think alot depends on how you think they will like it? Could you not ask you DS if he would enjoy it? if not arrange for him to do something else for the day, cinema trip with friends etc? and take your youngest?

Last year we went to Winter Wonderland Hyde Park (18th Dec- snowed heavily.Some of the rides were closed but it was lovely)
I thought it might be the last chance to get them to Lapland UK. We live in Essex so they would be fine with early start and journey.
Don't think DS would agree to be left out.
I reckon the younger children could really believe they'd been to see Lapland.Apparently their FC is brilliant as are the elves.

We went last year. Huge huge huge pile of crap waste of money IMO. Took DS (3.3), my mum and dad, me and DP. My mum and I love Christmas more than chocolate. However, were heartbroken by the experience. My DS did enjoy iy, but he would have also have enjoyed Hyde Parks Winter wonderland - which is free.
I wont go into detail about the day, but and non-believers would be bored rigid. Unless you want to pay £50 for an ice skating session, seriously, give it a miss. Father Christmas is the best part and is definately the REAL one though!
