Christmas Cake/Christmas Pudding

I know we're just now wrapping up Christmas 2010 but am wondering -- when do you make your Christmas cake and/or Christmas puddings? I've heard rumblings about doing it around now and feeding them all year, but is that right?

no, I make my Christmas Cake on Stir up Sunday! around 12th November and feed it until I ice it in December.

Thanks! I make my puds in October since we're in the States for most of November. Think it'll be okay to make a cake that early, too?

yes it will be fine, just give it a good drink before you go and wrap in greaseproof, cling film and foil in double layers to keep it moist and scrummy for when you get back.
