DS opened his stocking presents first thing but he hasn't opened anything else yet. We usually eat Christmas Dinner about 4pm and do the presents after that but I think we are going to be eating even later this year so might let him start opening them now before he gets too tired after dinner.

ours were opened by 9am (kids did stockings at about 7am) and then we had breakfast.

We have stocking presents in the morning and tree presents after lunch - but we do have lunch at 1 so not waiting all day for tree pressies.

We like to make the magic of the day last a bit longer. DS had time this morning to appreciate and enjoy his stocking pressies and is now happily putting his Lego Quidditch together Xmas Grin

They have not opened anything becuse dh has only just wrapped my stocking presents. DD was up for 2 hours in the night crying and poorly,
ds has been poorly in the night too and had ermm a couple of "leaks" requiring 3 baths. and several loads of washing. I fell asleep (4 hrs sleep last night/night before) whilst ds was having his nap so our light lunch was very late and I have only just put the turkey in the oven. WE had to hoover up too as yesterdays meals got scattered and we were too late back from evening carol service to do it then.

we normally open stockings in the morning and presents in the afternoon and over the next couple of days as we spread them out between nappies meals cooking etc.

We opened our stocking presents this morningThe girls opened thiers together at 8.30 then came into us at 9.15 Yes they still do this at 19 and 21 DD1 would still do that as well but she's in France with her DH this year.
Then we went out for Christmas Dinner at 12 ( don't have breakfast on Christmas Day), Got back at 3pm. DH lit the fire and we opened the main presents. My MIl still buys quite a lot of presents.

We did our stockinmgs first thing and then the immediate family pressies - so about 5 of them throughout the day today and then will save 5 or so each for tomorrow. Otehrwise I find Boxing day a bit depressing and the dc dont even look at the pressies they have (big extended family)

We don't do stockings. All presents from family and friends are under the tree.

Father Christmas's present is left set up and ready int he middle of the room. This morning it was a Sylvanian families beauty salon. DD gts to see hat and have a play whilst DH makesus all some tea and I sort out some nibbly type breakfast.

Then present opening begins. DD organises it and we take it in turns - DD, me, then DH - until mine and DHs runs out. Then it is for DD to complete. I note down who bought what too.

When everything is open, that;s when things start being explored, opened properly, played with, etc.
