It's something about 'Christmas day in the morning' but it's not I saw three ships

It's a girl singing I think

Do you have any more info? Is it modern? Any idea of the style?

KatyMac · 23/12/2010 20:52

Modernish - pop (ish)

Quite christmassy music, quite high

Craig Charles played a Christmas song by her this afternoon - can't remember what it was called but she sang it in a sort of rasping folksy way which grated on me as I like a carol to sound like a carol.

Are we getting warmer?Smile

Have a look at Thea Gilmore " That'll be christmas" It's on youtube. Doesn't have the words you were wanting, but I heard it this morn on Ken Bruce and thought it was Annie Lennox-y Worth a look.

Sorry about appalling texting - I'm on the phone in bed and all giddy - "Name That Tune" is my favourite game!

AstridsTardisDisaster · 23/12/2010 21:32

KT tunstall was singing on radio this morning on the chris evans show. could it be that?

WhatsWrongWithYou · 23/12/2010 21:32

No, cancel that, it was 'God Rest Ye, Merry Gentlemen.'

BaroqinAroundTheChristmasTree · 23/12/2010 21:36

Lennox's new one has a few carols on it - but not one with Christmas day in the morning.

louvert · 23/12/2010 21:37

Do you know there are playlists for some of the Radio2 programmes? If you could tell us the programme, we might be able to wittle it down from there.

BaroqinAroundTheChristmasTree · 23/12/2010 21:38

KatyMac · 23/12/2010 21:46

Can't be a different radio station - it's not allowed

louvert · 23/12/2010 21:46

Don't give in - we'll find it eventually!

(If only mumsnet had a sound recording facility; you could hum a bit for us!)

KatyMac · 23/12/2010 21:50

I couldn't carry a tune in a bucket; I'm a disaster

OP posts:
KatyMac · 23/12/2010 22:01

Lotkinsgonecurly · 23/12/2010 22:08

This is the song stings version. There are lots of covers of it. Really nice

Lotkinsgonecurly · 23/12/2010 22:10

I think the version was Annie Lennox and her new Christmas album.

KatyMac · 23/12/2010 22:11

It was a modern song, maybe early on Christmas morning
