Help! The DC are getting a Wii for Xmas, which is all sorted. It comes with a remote and motion plus. Presumably I'm going to need to pick up a couple of other accessories tomorrow when I do my last bit of shopping? Do I need to get 3 more remotes and do they have to be motion plus ones? What about a charger - does it have to be a quad one? And what the hell is a nunchuck and will I need one/some?

We've got just two remotes and that's fine for everything we've wanted to play. Nunchuck needed for some games eg: boxing on wii sports iirc.

Thanks, that's great. The kids are mad on Super Mario so I've bought a couple of those too - if I just get 2 sets of controllesr for now will they be disappointed if the 4 of us can't all play together a la Jamie & Louise Redknapp on the adverts?!

We have four remotes and a quad charger, as well as nunchucks and a classic controller.

You don't need this straightaway - you can use just batteries.

Part of the fun is going out to buy the accessories, so I wouldn't try to do everything ahead. See what you need first.

Thanks, amerryscot. If we just buy 2 remotes, and 2 nunchucks for now you think that'll be ok then? If we end up eventually with 4 remotes, then would a quad charger be better or would a double one do (and just charge 2 at a time?)

Have you got Mario Kart? It's the best Wii game ever imho. We only have one wheel but tbh would probably be better with two. But deffo start off with just two remotes and two nunchucks and see how it goes.

I would get the quad charger. You can buy the remotes with the charger (the basic charger is the charging unit plus the rechargeable batteries), so don't get the remotes first.

One of the things that is really handy to get are the plastic clip ons to turn your remotes into a tennis racquet, steering wheel etc. I got a whole set in Poundland for £1.

Yep, have got MarioKart and it comes with a wheel. Have got a second wheel on our "to buy "list.

Will also get the quad charger then.

Thanks
