Ok, can we cancel Christmas please?!?! Call me scrooge or what have you but this is sttressful. First away from my parents and the first one i have organised!

Ok heres whats wrong;

*Morrisons today - NIGHTMARE
*Present buying - all done but no easy task
*House full of people that DP wants there but not me :( (not the full truth in a way but DP is very hospitable, i'm a grumpy bastard!)
*DP is being made to pick up DSD from her mothers (obv. we wanna see her, but she is making NO EFFORT)
And to top it off - central heating broke, so no heating no hot water and the house is 8c and we have a useless skint (HOW?!?!?!?!) landlady who i don't reckon will have ANYTHING sorted in time!
*AND i don't like surprises yet DP won't tell me what he has got me?!

On the upside, relatives no problem - coming over on 30th and only my parents, sister and grandma are coming. BIL and MIL live with us, so that the plus side

Can anyone lend you some heaters? Do you go through an agency? You need to get some heating.

You need heating, everything else is manageable. Get onto the landlady pronto.

From what I remember from property law if your landlady refuses to fix the heating and the house is thus rendered uninhabitable (which I'm pretty sure this effectively is) then you can do it and pay for it yourself and deduct the cost from the rent.

Possibly not hugely helpful since you have to have the money kicking around ready to be spent but might be worth investigating? There may be a minimum time you have to wait, I can't remember (sorry) but something for you to look into - not like it's a busy time of year or anything
