He has asked me for suggestions of what to get her. DD is 5, Grandad is 82 and it's still snowy and icy round here. I really don't want him going out so suggested he give her the money and she can choose something herself after xmas. He said he gives money to everyone else but really wants to give an actual gift to 'my only great granddaughter.' So sweet of him but I'm worried about him going out in the ice! He wants to spend around £50, the only shops within easy reach are Sainsburys, a small Tesco, and Marks and Spencer. Can anyone think of anything I can suggest?

Nice pyjamas from M+S. Make sure he gets a size bigger so they will last; also dressing gown and or slippers.

M&S have lovely hot water bottles. Agree dressing gown and slippers sounds perfect. Does she need clothes? My grandad always liked us to have "a new frock". There are also some fabby jigsaws in M and S if he was happy just to get her something small and let her spend the rest after Christmas?

Great ideas, thank you, will give him a call now and suggest pjs, slippers and maybe a puzzle.

Oh he sounds gorgeous.

Definitely PJs / dressing gown / slippers from M&S, and if there's any money left over he could get her hot chocolate and marshmallows Smile

SO cute.

My great uncle arrived a couple of Christmases ago with a stunning dress he had picked from M&S for dd. I wished it would fit her forever just to keep the memory of it alive.
