How do I get my paperchains to stay up?

I am determined that this place will look like Santa's fucking grotto by the time I have finished, but the paper chains keep falling down. Am using white tack but it doesn't seem to be working.

Any ideas?

tack it more regularly to keep the weight off?

Beats me. Yesterday I was banging drawing pins into the wall with a lump hammer...They're still up though!

No More Nails.

masking tape- slightly less damage to walls than selotape used for everything in our house

tack is fine, you just have to tack every second (or less) chain
