DD is 7 and we are severely lacking presents for her this year. She is middle child and quite arty so has always been bought lots of craft kits so we're trying to avoid this! Plus I hate buying disposable junk, as advertised on Tv. All ideas welcome - feel I'm going round in circles!!

My youngest DD is the same age, and she is very arty too so similar problem, she has everything she could want, one of bigger dd's is an art student and keeps her well stocked up! So.... she is getting a Sylvanian School, roller skates, lots of books, The railway children dvd, St Claires audio book, lots more books, a doll, and I can't remember what else Xmas Blush wrapped it all months ago and now it's under the tree, there is rather a lot of stuff. She would like a DSi, but she is not having one yet.

Love the roller skates idea!!! Our dds sound similar, mine has a Heidi cd, having exhausted Enid Blyton's Naughtiest girl and already has the Sylvanian bakery! MP3 might actually come in handy for storing all the audio books before she scratches them! Thank you!

My 7 year old dd is middle also - she loves playing school, being teacher etc so we have got her a full sized whiteboard with board pens, proper board duster, a register, lots of reward stickers/certificates for her 'class' - Any good?

My daughter the same age is having a desk and stool, JD bug and stocking filler stuff.

If you get her an mp3, get her a little speaker to go with it. Much better for young ears.

DD2 (7yo middle one) is getting a DSi (wasn't planning to but Sainsbury's had 25% off the other week, plus DD1 gets staff discount there from her Saturday job :) ) - if we hadn't got that we were going to get her a digital camera for about £50. A "proper" one rather than a kids' camera, because she likes taking photos and is not too bad when she thinks about it. Though get a reduced price one from a big name rather than a cheap one as there are a lot of cr*p ones out there. (M&S had some Sony ones for £50)

Otherwise she's getting from various people some DVDs, pyjamas, DS game, Littlest Pet Shop things, Gogo crazy bones stuff, a Moxie doll.

Our dd is nearly seven and gets on very well with an adult type camera.
