At 7 my daughter loved crafty things-make your own purse etc. Shes 11 now and likes nice pens and stationary, photo frames, knicnacs for her room etc.

Klutz books from Amazon.

I was also going to suggest the Klutz books.

DD loves the Paper Fashions one (and so do I if I'm honest about it Xmas Blush

\link{http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=fashion+angels\Fashion Angels} are also good. My DD has the Fashion Design one and is getting the Interior Design sketchpad for Christmas.

Depends on your budget.

A friends 11yr dd has on her list an iPod touch, ugh boots and smells from Lush.

The last one would be good or an iTunes voucher if they have electronics and you can run to £15.

Alternatively, Claire's Accessories, Accessorize or Topshop items always go down well.

Lol at iPad self correcting my 'Ugg' boots to 'ugh' boots Grin

I thought about suggesting the Klutz books, though, but would neverdream of recommending them from Amazon Xmas Wink (use your local bookshop instead)

the paper fashions one is brrrriliant - and you can get Fancy paper fashions too.

Another vote for Klutz here. There are a few journally ones that are lovely.

Yet another vote for the klutz fashion books my dd is 11 she has some. She likes crafty stuff and smelly stuff, soap and glory from boots is nice she says her friends similar age have some.Paperchase has some lovely jewellery stands, stationery etc. My dd has also asked for a cookbook(cakes, etc), apron, bowl and utensils.Xmas Smile

Another vote for Fashion Angels stuff here!

BelligerentYhoULE · 19/12/2010 16:07

Yes, yes to the Klutz fashion books - my girls loved those.

Good quality gel pens - better to have five good ones than 20 cheap ones.

Stuff to make birthday cards from.

Cute necklaces from Accessorise - they have lots of lovely quirky ones for about six pounds each. Much, much nicer than anything in Claire's.

How much do you want to spend? How about a box of felt, needles, cotton, embroidery silks etc to share?

Or a big mixing bowl, some wooden spoons, cupcake cases, sprinkles, writing icing etc to share?

Oh or just about anything from Paperchase.
