My friend has asked my advice on what to buy for his 8year old niece. She lives in Germany, and seems to play with quite babyish toys. She loves horses and would not be allowed anything like kids make up.

Any ideas?

Also I know she asked for a nintendo Wii and likes the ds, but both of those cost more then he was hoping to pay for a present.

Belleville Lego (all pink and horsey)
toy stable
Sylvanian families
CD player & youngish CDs
pogo stick (deliver direct from amazon.de)
skates/ roller blades
space hopper
bow & arrow
butterfly growing kit

If she still like playing with toys then she would probably like Sylvanian Families, girly playmobil, polly pocket, all the 'in my pocket' stuff, crafty things - argos had reduced the Illumination Station to about £12 instead of £22.
