What to do when you know what someone has bought you

Have found out friend of mine has bought me a Shiatsu back massager.

Very nice gift, she said to mutual friend she knows I love them (I sat on one once in JL and said it was nice...but just the once!) and want one

I dont, yes very very nice gift that I DO appreciate but it has to go on a high back firm desk chair...ours is low back and no room or cash or desire (!) to buy another.

I cant see me ever using it...it is destined to stay in the box
do I mention anything? work it into a conversation (not sure how mind you!)? Or just graciously accept it?

I KNOW I sound like an ungrateful bitch I do, but I dont want her wasting her money on something I'll never use and her feeling pissed off

she WILL ask how it is....alot!

TIA

Haha. I got a personalised candle one year so no chance of regifting that baby.
Not sure what you can do. If you know the shop she got it from and they have a reasonable returns policy you can graciously accept it then change it after xmas. If not. Suck it up.

:o for my 21st I got a personalised candle....nice gesture....wrong birthday on it though :o

I THINK it was John Lewis, in which case should be fine to exchange....but it's not really the done thing is it?!

Knew I never shouldve tried it out in store! :o

Yeah take it back and get something you like better. Seriously. Preferably before christmas so you don't have to queue up in the returns queue. :)
