And does it fill you with the joys of the season or the dread of the nightmare that is Christmas?

I am not too worried. Dh has asked me lots of pertinent questions and shown me some websites Smile

Besides anything beats the packets of wildflower seeds he got me 3 years ago. It hadn't occurred to him that it might not be the right time to sow them at the end of December... Hmm Grin

I expect dh is getting me a necklace, identical to the one he got me last year and the year before!

He never notices that they are the same....Hmm but I have 3 pairs of identical earings, 2 lots of 2 identical necklaces and 3 identical bracelets.

One of those '1001 [somethings] you should read/eat/smell before you die' books.

He bought himself the video games one at the same time, that's how I know Grin Lucky I like that sort of thing really (have already nicked the video games one for myself).

Half a holiday to Turkey (well some is for my birthday, some for his, some for our anniversary & some for Christmas)

Dexterrocks · 13/12/2010 21:01

I don't know but I am very afraid. Very, very afraid. Hmm

butternutsquashed · 13/12/2010 21:09

A netbook, which he knows I need. I have asked for a small and inexpensive suprise.

goodmanners · 13/12/2010 21:11

im slightly worried but amused these days. Many years ago he got me a how to ski book, i really thought it was the build up to a suprise skiing holiday - 10yrs later we have never been.

Hopefully nothing! After years of awful gifts (I know I'm ungrateful) after heavily dropping hints that fall on deaf ears. I have bought myself a gift which he will wrap. Last year was my 40th (birthday is on christmas day) I am horrendous to buy for and said I would be happier if I could buy somthing after christmas as I could not think of a single thing that I wanted. We agreed to this and then 2 weeks before he made a big fuss of how my 40th couldn't go by without a present and it was a special birthday. I thought hmmm maybe earrings, y'know something to keep forever. He made a big deal on the morning infront of everyone of giving me my gift. It was a lap top. I had never mentioned wanting one, I was gutted, had to fight back tears. I know ungrateful buts thats how I felt.

DaftApeth · 13/12/2010 21:18

I never expect that much. Mind you he doesn't really get anything hugely exciting from me but I do try to make sure he has lots of little things to open.

We are usually at my parents so I get a few things from them and I feel a bit guilty that he only gets one thing from them to add to his pile.

This year, I have splashed out and I ordered myself an iPad. I wouldnt normally spend that much on myself but decided to mega treat myself.

of course it has ended up being a family present because the dcs both fight over it too!

lucysmam · 13/12/2010 21:36

I'm getting a handbag, shoes, perfume, possibly a watch & some books.

I know because he's been squirelling away the odd couple of quid here & there and thinking I wouldn't notice and he's hiding them at his mam's. Except everyhting's still in it's bag & she's not very good at hiding

But, I'm quite happy to let him get on and choose anything for me. I trust him completely to get me something nice, he's always good at pressies

He is v good at buying presents - apart from the travesty that was a Dirty Dancing DVD for my birthday this year. I have NO idea why he bought that!

I suspect that for Christmas he will get me some or all of:

The most recent Stephen King book
Some 'posh' bubble bath
Some sort of indie-ish DVD from the 80s
Possibly a necklace (quirky costume-esque rather than Tiffany!)
Lots of chocolates
A bottle of something - maybe Tia Maria or Southern Comfort.

He is a good 'un. And I am rubbish at buying things for him and always feel guilty.

BrandyButterPie · 13/12/2010 21:52

He is getting me a leopard print off brand slanket :)

I know because he has told me Hmm - he is rubbish at secrets!

ShanahansRevenge · 13/12/2010 21:57

He will buy me a selection of things which together will amount to the same price as the diamond earrings I so badly want.

Usually some clothing..he chooses well...some perfume...

I have hinted for three years...he must think its beyond our budget...its not! He spends a lot of cash on many lovely things...but all I want is a pair of diamond earrings.
Bless him.

He maay get me some pervy underwear too...he often does. Xmas Hmm

Lynli · 13/12/2010 22:02

Whatever my heart desires, he has an amazing way of knowing exactly what I want. (He asks DD, he gets her to buy it and wrap it).

NemoTheRedNosedFish · 13/12/2010 22:15

I think dh will get me:

Crystal pendant (I have an obsession with crystal jewllery)

Some Wii fit stuff, like cario workout / yoga

Art Nouveau Tarot Cards (ooooooh... I have been coveting those...)

A Chocolate Orange. This item will not live to see Boxing Day.

I know he isn't getting me any smellies, so I'll be getting them myself and saving them until my Xmas bath on Xmas eve. (Lush stuff - again loooong time obsession)
