What would you get yourself for Christmas? In a strop as DH has announced we are not doing presents for each other after I have got him something.

It's somewhat reasonable of him - we are trying to keep expenditure to a minimum (since he bought an ipad last month, a-hem), so he has said no present for him, and I've had to say the same for me, and we'll get a smaller present for DD than originally planned. Fine, except I then got into a terrible mood because I wouldn't have anything to unwrap under the tree .

I have already got him a few things and have decided to get myself something small so I don't feel miserable on the day. The question is, what?

A sausage dog.

a divorce

but did some nice stuff in fat face today!!

I'd get a DVD box set of something a few years old, hence really cheap. Pound for pound I probably get more fun out my Season 1 of Spooks box set than any other treat I can think of.
If DH decides not to do Christmas presents then I'll be getting myself the new Nigella and a handful of recent science fiction novels in the New Year.
If my budget was a bit bigger then I'd get the Lego Medieval Market Place just for me, because I covet it so much, and I can't really persuade any of the other family members that they want it Blush.

I love wearing silk, in this cold what I would like is something like this, but as the budget doesn't stretch that far I'd have to settle for something like this.

I would get myself a wedding ring. We have been married nearly 2 years and have 4 DCs together but for various reasons just had a very small wedding (in fact just us, kids and two witnesses!).

I would love any ring really, nothing fancy but just so people can see I'm married. I have been hinting A LOT and went into town and got my finger measured!!! Xmas Grin.

But assuming you aren't married/ have a ring I would recommend slipper socks. I got some half price in Cotwolds store and they are fantastic.

Same as dylis, I'd get a DVD. This year DH and I agreed on a small budget for gifts, and we also bought family guy 9 and the futurama film box set which I've wrapped up from Santa. This is because we've both wanted them for ages and we may have ended up both buying them from each other!

Anyway in your shoes I'd still be annoyed at your DH. You should buy yourself stuff to match the iPad in value and wrap it all up, why should you miss out?

I know my dh, he can be a scatterbrain, so I bought myself a Jamie Oliver book, Family Dinners, and gave it to him yesterday "Here, when the kids ask about present for mummy, give them this book to wrap for me".

We need Christmas presents too!

Maybe spa treatments?

thereisthesnowball · 14/12/2010 16:50

Very good - he certainly will have got nothing for me from DD (who can give him the book I got). So it's two presents I am looking for now Grin

TheLimeFairy - hope you get your ring!

Well for christmas I am having:

My hair done on 18th december- complete cut/layered ,washand blow dry and full highlights. MAJOR treat for me as have not had my hair done in like 1-2 years lol.

Large bottle of martini

Couple of books

Then will treat myself to some clothes, perfume etc in sales after christmas

DH has just bought me a salad bowl and plate I've wanted for ages. He doesn't know this yet.

They were reduced so he got them for under £20, original price £50. So I think he got off lightly. And they are fairly bulky so will look nice all wrapped up under the tree.
