fuzzy felts - good idea?

Was thinking of getting some fuzzy felts for christmas for dd1, 2.7yo. Apparently I loved them when I was little. But I don't remember them at all and have no idea what they're like. Would have to order them off the internet because shops here don't have them, so can't get a look at them beforehand either. Do your kids like them, are they suitable for a toddler?

They are very easy for toddlers and non-messy. My daughter has enjoyed them. An alternative is a magnetic playset which is equally easy.

DS loved his fuzzy felts and aquadraw mat at that age, even his older cousins would join in.

I loved them as a kid too. I would say it depends how tidy your dcs are. They are the sort of thing that can "spray" around and stick to carpets, dogs, fleece jumpers etc and end up all over the house. If they will play with it at table and keep it tidy then they are great fun.

We got fuzzy felt sets from the Early learning Centre and I have also seen them in Toys r Us.

I bought some fuzzy felts at Home Bargains at the week end. Any cheapy-pound-stretcher type shop will do them.

I 'd recommend these bigger size felt pieces for smaller children. DD adores fuzzy felt but it is small and fiddly

oooh! elliephant ! i stock those in my shop! Grin

Thanks for replies. Still not exactly clear what they are. I'm imagining felt shapes that you stick on a picture board. Is that right? Our house is very messy and dd likes hoarding small things on odd places so perhaps this isnt the game for us

You get a fuzzy board with pieces of felt to stick on to make pictures. We've had various versions with varying degrees of success. We had some like the ones elliephant linked to which ended up going to the charity shop as it was impossible to keep all the bits together! The best ones come with a tin to keep all the pieces in and BY FAR the best one we've had is the making faces one from ELC - will see if I can find a link!

Sorry - they don't seem to do it any more but maybe have them in store?

Tikkabillajive · 13/12/2010 14:16

This is the one we have.
