We have brought a couple of these hamsters, as my 2 ds will enjoy them whizzing around the house. But what about all the stuff that goes with them. Is it worth it, and if so what bits are good?

i think it is all a great steaming heap of shite.
hope this helps

My DD got some at age 8 and it never gets played with. The car's quite fun though :)

VinoEsmeralda · 08/12/2010 21:00

My DD has one of those run type thingies and does play with it occasionally but the zhu zhu on their own a lot more.

Bought her the princess carriage though as seems fun and was half price..

Bingtata · 08/12/2010 21:11

We have 3 hamsters but I never bought any plastic tat to go with them and they work on the kitchen floor fine. DD's eyes lit up at the princess set though, groan!

flippinggorgeous · 08/12/2010 21:27

Princess set? Oh no! Don't tell DD.

They love their Zhu Zhus, just make sure you have spare batteries in, the display ones don't last very long.

Crap

ForFestiveSake · 08/12/2010 21:43

DD loves hers - as does DS.

Never bothered with the playsets etc. She builds them ramps out of books and lego houses.

DS trashes said houses toddlerzilla style and sets the hamsters free on the laminate flooring amid much fuss from DD - keeps them both entertained long enough for me to eat secret chocolate wash up so they get my vote Xmas Grin

But a word of caution - obey the sticker on the bottom telling you to keep them away from hair ouch

wangle99 · 08/12/2010 21:48

DS wanted one last year when they were really hard to get hold of, did manage to get him one literally on Christmas Eve, was dubious he'd play with it (he was 6 years old then) and he absolutely loves it! To the point we have got him another one this year!

Haven't gone for any of the accessories though.

Scootergrrrl · 08/12/2010 21:51

Ours arrived today - late present for DDs birthday - and they are very popular. We have only had them for about eight hours though!

dockate · 09/12/2010 17:51

DS and DD are both getting one in their stockings this year (his Kung Zhu). They look cute, but I have mixed feelings.

hellion · 10/12/2010 20:47

Thanks - I don;t think I will bother will the plastic toot. i didn't realise they made strange noises when you push their noses. At least they don't need as much care as the real thing.
