DS Games for 3 Year Olds?

My neice and nephew are both getting second hand DS's for Christmas. Was going to get them a game each.

Does anyone have any idea of suitable games - I don't want to be spending loads either so the cheaper the better Grin.

My son has peppa pig for Christmas, which I've had a sercret play on. It's really cute and easy to play. It came from amazon and was, I think about £10

peppa pig is great,so are dora and diego ones,
theres also i did it mum (theres a boy and girl version and picture book too) all really good, and have several different activities on them.

I would feel so sorry for them getting DS's (sorry. but I would) that I think I'd be inclined to get them something they could have some real 3 year old fun with - a cart/sledge/kite/moonsand etc etc

ChickensHaveNoMercyForTurkeys · 05/12/2010 20:45

My DC couldn't have operated a DS at 3. I think out of frustration they'd have launched them.

step away from the moonsand

Agree with paisleyleaf
I'd rather get them peppa pig , dora etc books that you can enjoy with them

PaisleyLeaf · 05/12/2010 20:48

Xmas Grin taffeta
We don't have it - it's got to be an outdoor toy that hasn't it? Like, in a sandpit.

Paisleyleaf - I would have said that until DD3. DD1 had a DS (well Gameboy in her day!) at about 8, DD2 is 7 and just about to get one for Christmas, she has only just got the hang of it. DD3 is going to be 3 soon, she will not be having one of her own, but I have "I did it mum" and she loves it, although she needs guidance.

I'm lucky to have an iPhone so I download games like shape sorting and matching pairs onto that - great for train journeys where not everybody wants to hear me read Peppa Pig again and again!

Oh I know Housemum, it's not all bad - my DD has a go on her grandma's DS and has since she was 4/5. I just think it a waste of christmas present for a 3 year old, and an extra waste of a present to add to the DS present the niece & nephew are already getting.

Postman pat one is good.

anniebear · 05/12/2010 21:46

Another vote for I Did It Mum, is really, you don't need to read instructions to play

anniebear · 05/12/2010 21:52

DD age 3.5 has the Pocoyo DS game and it's great. Cheap on amazon. It's not her DS btw but she is pretty good at using it. She also plays on my old Nintendogs, she can feed them, walk them, clean them etc.
