Have you ever had engraving done on a Christmas present?

and if so .. what did you write? Am looking for inspiration!

I have had it done on a Christening gift and received baby gifts with it on.
I don't know what to write but I would recommend choosing a very simple script as the fancy script becomes very hard to read when engraved.

So do you reckon a more modern plain font?

A very simple plain font yes - otherwise it is very hard to read.
