Just wondered if anyone has any ideas of some good DS games for my DS??

My son loves Lego Star Wars and will be getting Lego Harry Potter soon.

He has a pile of games but only usually plays the same ones over and over again. He also likes Pokemon, but not sure if he really understands it.

Mario Kart is another favourite of his.

You can also get Lego Batman, we are getting him this for the Wii though.

Hope this gives you a few ideas.

My ds has just turned 6.
His favourite ds games are:
Lego Batman (I think it has a 7 certificate though)
Mario Kart
New Super Mario Bros
He has Lego Star Wars for the Wii or would have been desperate for that on ds too.

The man who helped me in HMV when I was looking recommended Penguin Club. I haven't played it yet though so I don't know how much reading is involved.
The same goes for Toy Story 3 and the Sims games.

yep our list is pretty similar to dexterrocks

What about Club Penguin, there are two versions available? He could get a membership to play online as well, it is fully moderated just be prepared to learn about puffle ownership and igloo design!

My dts have been members for a couple of years now, at nearly 9 are possibly getting a little too old for it.

Oh and you don't have to pay for membership to the online game - just if your ds wants extras and to be able to buy costumes for his penguin etc. There is a free version which is more than acceptable as you still get to join in, collect the items if you find them and play the games.

TwoIfBySea Club Penguin is what I meant when I said Penguin Club. Can I hijack the thread and ask if much reading is involved? I can cope with the occasional bit but if I am driving and he is trying to spell out words every 20 seconds I will go nuts!

My DS1 has just turned 6 and got Toy Story 3 for his birthday and he loves it. Needed a little help occasionally but could do most of it.

preghead · 03/12/2010 23:56

my nearly 6y old has been playing on my old one for almost a year and loves all the ones mentioned here - any mario or lego one will be perfect - plus yoshi's island which is a mario spin off.

DS has Lego Star Wars (natch), FIFA 10, MArio and Sonic Winter Olympics, Drawn to Life (but can't really do it), and is getting Sonic Colours for Xmas. He's not averse to a go on his sisters Peppa Pig game either but shhh, you didn't hear that from me.

Hai1988 · 04/12/2010 09:14

Ok thanks for you great idea's

He already has lego star wars and mario cart and has toy story 3 on the xbox so doesnt reall need it again.

But some of you other suggestions where great.

Going into town today to get last final bits for xmas, so i think i will have a look at the pre-owned ds games as money has suddlenly become very tight Xmas Blush

In Club Penguin dexter? No, not much at all. Certainly not on the online version as once they learn the games they don't really need to read anything.
