Sainsburys Xmas del slots gone already? Surely not??

I have stayed up tonight just to get a slot for 23rd Dec, at 00:03 I logged on and there are no slots available?? WTF?

Has anybody else had any luck? Don't want to risk going to bed and missing the slots, but I am sooo tired!

Have to say this happened to me last year with Ocado and I called the call centre to say the slots hadn't appeared...how much of a muppet did I look, they had all been taken already, I just have no idea how people got one and was furious.

If I was you I'd either call the call centre to check if there's an error or accept your loss and book a slot on any other available day which is even vaguely near Christmas!

Keep checking over the next few days as sometimes more slots come available as people have been known to block book several days then delete them nearer Christmas.

Thanks, well I have just looked at my sains email and it says deliverys are up to 22nd But I did get one for the 23rd last year. It's turkys that are delivered up to 24th.

I will keep checking though.

no sainsburys slots at all here for the 23rd - my husband looked when he got up this morning at 6.30. booked a tesco one instead. tried calling sainsburys but put on hold for ages - probably people asking about deliveries due to the snow

I forgot to book a Tesco slot for the 22nd first thing this morning but they had loads left when I remembered mid-morning.

Phew! Just logged on for the 100th time and there is a slot on 21st for 10am. Thank god!

I can't understand why they are not delivering on 23rd though? I had a delivery last year.

Re them not having deliveries on the 23rd. Perhaps they are covering themselves and trying to avoid complaints. The nearer it gets to the 24th the likelihood is they sell out of stuff. If someone has a delivery on the 23rd, late evening, and there is loads missing, they would get loads of complaints (and limited opportunity for the poor customer to rectify things if they cannot get out easily on christmas eve)

hi stretch, when I booked my slot with Sainsbury's it said they were only delivering up to the 22nd HTH

I think it's good not to have one too close too Christmas in case there's snow and they all get cancelled. At least if you have a few days before then you have a chance of going to get it yourself.

people are mad, what's wrong with getting up off your arse and going into the actual shop?

maybe they're keeping a day spare in case of bad weather and will release it when they know they can go ahead with deliveries [confused)? Last years xmas week deliveries were cancelled left, right and centre last year.

I have one booked for the 20th as I can muddle through the rest of the xmas break.

Well, no off-street parking for me and little chance of parking outside my front door, for one. And my kids will be on holidays for a week before Christmas and tbh I really don't fancy going to the supermarket with them in tow...

Anyway....My email did say MadamGazelle that there were deliveries upto the 22nd, I had just not registered it!

johnny for me online shopping is an absolute bargain.

Option 1. I can get in the car, drive on lethally icy roads for 20 minutes. Queue to get into supermarket car park. Wait to park car (50 minutes so far). 1 hour round shop if I am lucky enough to get a trolley straight away. Queue at checkout (up to 30 minutes) put stuff from trolley onto belt. Put it in bags/in trolley. Load into car. Placate 2 small children throughout process and tut at other people's brats whinging in trolleys. . Queue to get out of car park. Brave icy roads again. Start thread on mnet on how I hate Tesco/how chavvy is Asda delete as appropriate.

Book delivery slot (I set my alarm to remind me, it took literally 10 minutes to book and do a rough list which I will amend nearer the time. Open door to delivery person at appointed time.Put shopping away. (delivery is free as spending over £100)

What's wrong with sitting on your arse and not going into the actual shop.

I save money because I meal plan. I have a delivery every fortnight anyway.

I also have 4 children; 8 and under, and get panic attacks when in crowds.
