I got my nephew's step-son The Hobbit for Christmas last year and he loved it. Any ideas for a good read for him this year? I'm going to check re the most obvious option of Lord of the Rings, i.e. whether he went on to read them himself or might be less keen, having seen the films. I'm keen to hear any recommendations if that's out! He's a bright kid, quiet and serious.
