It is personally written and addressed to me alone .

Very annoying that I cannot remember this person at all.

Do you send cards to everyone in your address book?

no not everyone, otherwise I would have to start writing them in July!

I get a Christmas card every year from a family who knew the previous owner of our house, knew her so well they dont have her new address that she has had for 5 years now! I open it, read the 'round robin' letter and then post it back saying that I dont have Mrs T's new address and that she hasnt lived here for 5 years.

I might ask my oldie neighbours next door if they have new address and post it on!

I got my first card of the year yesterday, it is round robin monstrosity which I honestly believed only existed as an urban myth.

It's in delightful green and red print on orange paper. It even has glitter! Glitter! for fuck sake! It's not even from people with dc's where you could maybe think the children had chosen the colour scheme and decoration.

There is a paragraph from their dog and cat, it made me want to lie in a dark room.

I envy you and your anonymous card.

I send to and receive cards from a distant relative I have only ever met once, at my great grandmother's wake ten years ago. An elegantly dressed older lady who chain smoked, we propped up the bar together, she was a riot (as much as one can be at a wake). I didn't think any of my maternal relatives were that interesting (they are very much like Eddie Izzard's description of C of E Christians!) so I was pleased to discover a black sheep. :o

Am thinking of sending card back to anonymous sender and asking who she is.

lol at dog and cat contributions

PMSL at the paragraph from the dog and cat Shock.

OP - I may have misunderstood - but has the sender signed his/her name and you can't place them? Or didn't they sign?

brimfull · 01/12/2010 23:05

the signed name but I can't remember the name at all I have googled but nothing I recognise comes up.
