Help! I have inherited a niece!

My brothers new(ish) girlfriend has a 7 year old daughter and I need to get her something lovely for Christmas. I have never met her, but apparently she is into writing stories, arts and crafts etc. I've been on Amazon but I am a bit overwhelmed with all the stuff on there, so I could do with some help! It needs to be posted so nothing too heavy. Any ideas what a 7 year old girl might like?

They like pens - amazing hi tech felt pens, glitter ink, metallic colours etc. Can write or draw with them.
What a nice nely dubbed aunt you are Grin

She sounds exactly like my 7 year old dd. My dd loves notebooks and writing sets.

I have just got her one of these doodles for girls books.

She also LOVES glitter glue. Which is basically a tube of squeezy glue with glitter in it.

What about a beading/jewellery making kit if she's into arts and crafts?

SatinShoes · 27/11/2010 07:54

fashion design type stuff
notebooks, posh pens etc
jewllery making kits

you can send to other addresses on amazon and get them to gift wrap

I got my 6 yr old niece a hello kitty design your own magazine kit off amazon. She would love something like that with some glittery pens

catinthehat2 · 27/11/2010 09:19

stationery
that is all
you simply have NO idea how many rubbers/pencils/crayons/rulers/pencil cases/assorted crap a 7yo girl needs, it is mindboggling

Brilliant thank you. That doodle book looks ace, and the Bratz thing. Off to oder them now. Smile

Coca that looks perfect. I wish I could see inside it though - what kind of 'tips' does it contain?

I got dd2 the JW Create your own magazine kit which looks good too

itstheyearzero · 27/11/2010 13:42

Sounds great. I think I will get one and say it's from her new cousin (DS). Cheers everyone.
