A question about advent calendars... only 5 days to go...

I've got one with pockets, bought little toys and treats to go in them... do I put all the treats in to the advent calendar on 30th November and hang it up high so my little tyke darling can't get them all on the 1st Dec, or do I put a new thing in the appropriate pocket each night for the next day? Who knew Christmas would be so complicated? Actually don't answer that :o

I intend putting all of the toys in on the day before. Fist time we have done it this way as DD has usually had a Playmobil one, but I am making her a Sylvanian Family one this year (they dont do one.) She is 8y though so have to trust her not to cheat.

I always put the things in the pockets the nioght before each day or in the norning if I forget to do it.

I have a very impressionable 3 year old so what do I tell him every morning when there's a new thing to have? Does Father Christmas bring them or are they from someone/something else?

I'd say they were from you and put them in the night before. Have known parents fill them up before Advent, but I know it would end in tears here

I would say the Christmas fairy brings them.

I'm a sucker for fairies though. They are Good Excuse for all sorts of stuff...actually ds2's smarties got eaten by the naughty dragon who lives on the chimney pot.

Ds2 spent the entire day looking up the inglenook with a torch saying he could see the dragon.
