Is there a 'must have' something for girls around 11/12 this year?

Um, no idea if there is or not and dd isn't sure about what she wants - apart from a couple of books.

Not saying I'd get this 'must have' thing for her, but I'd like to know what it is

Not sure, an Ipod? A scooter? Thats what my DDs friends are getting

it's all about DVD's , music, hair 'stuff' ect in our house, loves her Ipod and Dsi too

Don't fall for the 'must have' gift thing.
Just get what they actually want instead.

This is a difficult age. They are trying to find their own identity and not quite sure what they want that will fit with that.

Wii Fit Motion Plus, or iPod Nano here on a list (thought she won't nec. get these). Plus MarioKarts Wii, CD's, DVD's, fashion stuff, a "proper" ring.

DD1 (11) her favourites are - ipod nano, her mobile phone, lovelinks charm bracelet, bracelets made of beads, nintendo ds, the wii, club penguin, clothes from Monsoon, Joules, Gap, Ted Baker. Pens and notebooks, anything arty.

I'm not really sure what my budget is as we are waiting for solicitor to hand over dosh after mum's death. If that happens before Xmas then the budget could be huuuuuuuuuuuuuge but if it doesn't then the budget will be tiny tiny tiny tiny!

DD isn't sure what she wants which is why I'm wondering what the current super cool thing is. If I can afford it and I don't disapprove () then we'll get her that so she can be Cool in School. Oh I'm talking nonsense now, sorry. Who cares about Cool in School? She probably will. I'll shut up now.
