Well... big plant we had in our dining room keeled over, got rid of plant pot and there was just the most perfect space for a skinny tree!

And of course after buying it the box was just taking up room AND the space were the plant used to be look bare so I thought I better put the tree up to the make it look better Wink

Not getting our big real tree for another couple of weeks but I just couldn't resist....

Sorry but I can't understand why you would want a tree up today! Way, way too soon!

TeeBee · 21/11/2010 19:51

Ours is still growing. First weekend in December for us - otherwise bits drop off.

whomovedmychocolate · 21/11/2010 19:52

We were going to put ours up today as the kids were v keen, but I couldn't find it Blush

Not that I looked terribly hard. Grin

usualsuspect · 21/11/2010 19:56

I wouldn't cba, but I don't really have a problem with people that do ..its nice to have a bit of cheerfulness in these dark days

wangle99 · 21/11/2010 20:09

it has been a very dark dismal day tbh and now I have a sparkly tree Grin

At least I haven't put the presents underneath.... Wink

vintage4 · 21/11/2010 20:19

Leslaki · 21/11/2010 21:00

would love to but it's not Dec yet!! 1st of Dec for me Grin

pigleychez · 21/11/2010 21:15

Looking forward to it going up but not yet.... First weekend of Dec is the norm here :)

Meglet · 21/11/2010 21:16

no, you are the maddest Wink.

It's even not December yet.

TheOldestCat · 21/11/2010 21:16

Christmas isn't allowed to being until AFTER my birthday (end of November).

Didn't you get the memo? Grin

weepootle · 21/11/2010 21:18

I put mine up this afternoon, dd1 has been nagging me all week to do it and we're away next weekend so can't do it then.

Not that it's unusual in our house - I can never wait until Dec 1st.

scrappydappydoo · 21/11/2010 21:18

Ours is going up on Tuesday with all the decorations in preparation for our pretend christmas with dhs family (which is a whole other thread that I just don't want to start) . The neighbours are going to think we're insane especially as we only moved in 6mths ago.

Hulababy · 21/11/2010 21:22

But it isn't even December?

Hai1988 · 22/11/2010 11:19

always put mine up in the first weekend in Dec, although am always tempted to do it before i always hold back

mumoverseas · 22/11/2010 11:45

sorry, you don't win. A friend of mine put hers up at the end of August/begining of September Grin
In her defence, we live abroad most of the year and she (and her small DC) will be returning to the UK for a few days before Christmas. She therefore was 'well organised' and put it up ready for when the kids return.

I think she wins Grin

mumeeee · 22/11/2010 15:56

Sorry much to early. No Christmas tree or decarations here until at least the first weekend in December.

Poledra · 22/11/2010 16:01

I am wondering if I can make a complaint to our HR dept about the fact that our (irritating, squeaky) admin has put a Christmas tree up in our open-plan office.

Too fuckin' early.

AmazingBouncingFerret · 22/11/2010 16:01

Dont you just get sick of them before Christmas?

TooImmature2BMum · 22/11/2010 16:16

One year we only bought the tree at 5 to 5 on Christmas Eve...then raced to shops and bought discounted decorations. That was the year we ended up with a Princess Bride Barbie theme and no small children, due to the lack of decorations available. Do I lose?

wfrances · 22/11/2010 16:53

ive decorated my mantle ,my lounge decos are gold and silver so it doesnt look like santas grotto,i leave the massive tree for my hallway this is decorated very ott.{which will leave until mid dec} my real tree for my lounge wont arrive until dec 6 .
i have my snowy paper tree up in the dining room, but thats cause they dont look too christmassy.
