Can't believe I am asking this!

We've had a few different ones here over the years. Any of the more expensive ones have all broken as of course they were whacked off everything. So unless your ds is a bit older avoid the £50+ ones. The telescopic ones have all lasted here. They are about 3 years old now. They come in green/ red etc and they shoot out with a flick of the wrist a la luke skywalker! They are usually around £20

Actually just checked in argos the telescopic ones r only £7.99!

Another vote for the telescopic ones (and no batteries needed - bonus!)

DS (7) has a telescopic one that lights up and makes lightsabrey noises (I think its supposed to be Obi Wan's). Its blue, and cost £25 from John Lewis. His cousin (9) has a 'normal' one (no batteries) which telescopes much smaller, but doesn't do anything else.

DS now wants some ridiculous double-ended thing (General Grievous?) which costs a fortune. He's not getting it.

yes def the telescope ones, cheap in toysrus type places. we have about 25 in the garden Hmm they would survive nuclear war imo

oh but boys love the ones which light up and make real light sabre noises, no?

My DCs have the one of this kind (tis also telescopic) which we have now had for 5 years. It has survived many a jedi battle (including against the Dark Side's latest secret weapon.....vizsla-pup .......10 months old and convinced the light sabre is her new flashing, shwooshing stick :o )

Ahh thank you for this. Was exactly what I needed to know!
