Here is dd's Christmas list (stuff already bought). She is 4 and a half.

  • Chatimal Hamster - I have had a play with this, I think she will love it!
  • Pink VTech Camera - she loves borrowing my camera but finds the buttons fiddly.
  • ELC CD player with microphones - Dd adores X factor and loves to sing, loves the idea of being a 'rock star,' bless her. All I need now is a small soundproof booth Grin
  • VTech text and learn thingy - looks like a big 'mobile' crossed with an iPod - a MoPod? Helps number and letter recognition and spelling - has a fancy stylus - ooooh!
  • Woody Dressing up Set - Yeeeeeeeehahhhh!
  • Spongebob Squarepants Lego - she may have to fight dh and me to play with that...
  • Ocean in My Pocket Playset - she has hoards of 'xyz in my pocket' creatures and plays with them constantly.
  • A wooden easel and whiteboard + pens - she has been begging for one of these, we got a great deal (much cheapness - £20!) and she is pretty arty farty.
  • Chakra Crystal set and a amethyst crystal on a chain - yes I know, but she adores crystals and hopefully this will stop her pinching borrowing mine.
  • Dh has got her more Lego for him as she is just getting into it at the moment.
  • Dinosaur related stuff - can't even remember what we've got her! But dinosaur stuff is still a big favourite - been going strong since she was 18 months old! Shock Smile
  • Some bits like gold chocolate reindeer, those scented rubber band things, hair slides and bobbles, some books.

I. Can't. Wait.

Disclaimer - dd receives no other presents, so gets everything from us which gives me and dh the excuse to go nuts

Fab list :)

My only not-warning-as-such is the camera, DS1 got one for his 4th bday and they really are difficult to use, my camera on my iphone is so simple in comparison. He hardly ever uses it. One day i will get him a cheap normal digi one.

Loads of his friends got them around the same time and some love them though so not all bad!

FreudianSlimmery · 18/11/2010 07:19

Wow fab list!

I know what you mean about being excited... I've had so much fun choosing stuff for my kids, stepkids and DH. Can't wait to see their faces.

In fact I've been so busy choosing the perfect bargains presents that my mum actually had to remind me that it's my birthday in a few weeks Blush

Oh, she sounds like mine!
(I have fishy creatures underfoot continually)
The Vtech camera will be her bestest ever if she's like my dd. It's broken now Angry but after 3 yrs of continual use, it owed us nothing!

SuePurblybiltByElves · 18/11/2010 07:58

DD was given her vtech when 3 and it's fine - deleting is the only fiddly bit. I've used it for child-led research with lots of children ad they've all been able to figure it out, don't worry. But I agree that once they get the hang of itin a year or so and can take care of them, a cheap digtal camera will take much better pictures.

Do you have a big pound shop near you? Ours is called something like "What you want" and has cuddly ocean creatures with some kind of website link up for £1.99, reduced from £12.99. I bought DD a seahorse (second choice, she would prefer a whale shark Confused. Blinking Octonauts). but they have lots of choice.

List sounds lovely btw Smile

Do you mean Seapals? I also have about 10 of them from the £££ shop. You know there's a website to build a virtual seapal world?

Hours of fun!

SuePurblybiltByElves · 18/11/2010 08:28

no idea but that sounds likely. There was a clown fish, that's why nemo's post reminded me Grin. I'll have a look in the bottom of the wardrobe and check. Is it worth getting more than one then?

queenrollo · 18/11/2010 11:13

I bought DS the ELC cd player with microphones a couple of years ago.
You'll need to check if it's changed but it did not come with a power adaptor and it will eat batteries if she likes it as much as my DS likes his......

taffetacat · 18/11/2010 11:41

What a lucky girl, sounds like a great pressie haul. I am stupidly excited about Christmas this year. It makes all the crap of parenting worthwhile. Grin

GruffalosGirl · 18/11/2010 22:08

That souns lovely, it's so exciting buying for them.

Where did you get the easel from? I've been looking for one but they all seem to be about £50

nemofish · 19/11/2010 18:36

Found it on amazon. Saw quite a few at £50 too Shock

I have just bought dh a 'paperjamz' guitar. I must be nuts but I think he will love it... His proper guitar is v posh and expensive and couldn't really stand up to the attentions of dd knocking it over etc. £25 though so it's not the end of the world if he thinks 'what the hell did she buy me this for silly moo'
