Which LEGO sets are you buying/would recommend for 6yr olds this year?

DS wants lego for Christmas. Dh and I can't decide what to get for his 'big' present. Budget is up to £50 ish. We're thinking either Toy story, Harry Potter or possible the fire station. Has anyone got any opinions? Thanks.

we have the toystory car -about £15 they love it as it is quite a brilliant toy once made.

You'll get much more for your money if you don't go for the tie-in stuff. How much does he have already? because there's an excellent vehicles starter set.

Unfortunately he already has loads - it's one of those things that once people know he likes he has been given more and more of. He still loves it though but just doesn't need the sort of basic brick stuff.

Who knows - he does have the toy story car and he does like it. I think he gets more out of buildings rather than vehicles though. He has lots of brio too and he puts the buildings up round the track and makes games that also involve the lego men using the trains for getaways etc. It's very cool Grin

Just this very minute bought the lego police station for DS6, after agonising for quite a long time - he has loads of lego already too! That will be his only big present cos it expensive. £59.99 on Amazon. He also loves the smaller lego brickmaster sets. He got the castle and pirate ones last year and someone is getting him the Atlantis one this year!
