stocking fillers for a baby

it's for my 6mo nephew. babies hard to buy for anyway, and his parents are very wadded and am wary of filling up their house with junk. also know they wouldn't want us to spend too much money on their kids.

Was thinking of filling him and his 3yo sister a sock from my kids. but what to get him? all i can think of is a teething ring, weaning spoon, dummy clip, bib, rattle, some rice cakes...

thoughts? 'elp!

socks? My DS was for ever losing socks! Picture book

I think a nice board book with touchy feely bits would be a nicer gift tbh

treasure basket type items? whisk, pine cone, etc
toiletries? waitrose bottom butter v nice, or horns and halo bubble bath or whatever

socks, popper vests, little toothbrush, baby bath

A rubber duck for bath time
Sippy cup/beaker
Homoeopathic teething granules (if parents are likely to use something like that)
Stacking cups

For my own DCs I only really give things I'd have bought anyway for the first couple of years (toiletries, clothes etc) as they're too little to appreciate actual presents, and they get tonnes from other people anyway. Books are always good, or maybe something decorative to hang on the wall - a picture or frieze or height chart or something.
