We went a couple of years ago. It was good but pricey. You have to book the ice rink in advance otherwise I don't think you have a chance of getting a go on the day. You had to buy tokens for the fairground rides. Quite a few food/drinks stalls and lovely Xmas gift stalls too. The atmosphere is good but it was busy when we went. Weekend during the day. We are visiting again this year.

We went a couple of years ago on a Thursday if I remember correctly? It was fairly busy, mid-week, but not overly so. Xbox is right; pre-booking the ice rink in wise (though if you're planning to skate I personally think Somerset house is bigger and better). They also have a Ferris wheel, which you can pre-book, though we managed to get on without booking.
There are quite a few stalls selling traditional handmade gifts and the air is filled lots of lovely Christmas smells, (roasted nuts, Gluhwein and cinnamon pretzels....yummm!) It?s certainly worth a trip, though there wasn?t a huge amount of stalls and rides when we went so it didn?t take us long to walk around. The setting is beautiful in the winter especially if it?s frosty. Smile

thought it was rubbish - overpriced and didnt' see any of those handmade gift stalls! went on a weekend tho. won't go again

MilaMae · 16/11/2010 15:11

I agree with Ramon it was truely, utterly awful but we did go on the weekend in Dec so maybe asking for heaving crowds,a lot of drunk people, ambulances carting off injured people(ice skating I presume),gangs of drunk shouty teenagers and adults, people shoving their kids on the ride, extortionate prices,no crafts..... I'll stop now.

Not our bag really Smile

Our kids were 5,5 and 4 so maybe a tad young too. Also if it's cold which it was there is nowhere to warm up.

Changebagsandgladrags · 16/11/2010 17:37

We've been twice, DS1 is 4. Yes it gets cold, but there is an indoor cafe there, also circus is warm. Only ever been on a weekday and early though. We're away by 3pm

tacky and awful after dark on weekends. may be better on a weekday

SGertie · 16/11/2010 19:17

Thanks all for the reviews. As I'm tied into weekends only I think we will give it a miss and spend the money elsewhere. Pity as it sounds lovely during school hours.
