So I have pretty much finished my christmas shopping.... except DH... I haven't even started DH..... HELP!!!!! Confused

We have set a budget this year £10 from the kids , £30 from each other.... so I have £40 to play with

WTF do I buy him

he's into lots of fitness stuff - but I end up buying him running gear etc for everything! Birthday, fathers day, crimbo - the lot!!! Blush

I haven't a clue what else to get him!

Im of no help but can offer sympathy because im in pretty much the same boat, except its golf, not running.

Wish they'd write a bloomin list or something!

mummycreepynora · 10/11/2010 20:29

lol I get.... I dunno - clothes or something!

If I got 'clothes or something' in that budget it would be a pack of pants from the kids and a top - thats a pretty crap christmas isn't it!!!

what about making something from the kids, maybe decorate a mug or do a personal calendar with pics of you all. can't think of anything from you though, sorry!

mummynoseynora · 10/11/2010 21:11

did a mug as a last minute add on on fathers day!

I am dooomed aren't I!

twolittledarlings · 10/11/2010 21:16

Ipod Shuffle? I think they are under £40 and he can use this when he is running if he hasn't already got that

spacecadet1 · 10/11/2010 21:17

how old are the kids? if old enough why not get them to do a book of vouchers with things like 'this voucher entitles dad to ... a free car wash, breakfast in bed, lunch of your choice, etc maybe with stuff he likes & you could also "help". that way it's kind of free, they can help make the booklet & you get £10 more to whatever you choose to buy & he can cash them in when he wants (within reason of course Shock)

waterbabyabroad · 10/11/2010 21:19

Does he like comedy at all? I bought DP 'Best of Matt (Telegraph) books and Radio 4 series Dead Ringers and I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue and both have gone down well. Good luck though. I'm searching for ideas for a main prezzie this year too and it's been a painful hunt so far....

nelliesmum · 10/11/2010 21:24

Well, I was going to buy mine a giant beanbag to facilitate his favourite hobby (lying on the floor, sleeping with the TV on) but he wants a golf GPS thingey.

pillsthrillsandbellyaches · 10/11/2010 21:26

does he play computer games?
my hubby would love the new medal of honour for ps3.
unfortuneatly for him he's only got a ps2! hahaha.

nice jammies?

malt whiskey?

cool hat and gloves from some kind of outdoor shop?

ooh, chocolates. truffles from thorntons? and toffee too.

cannae beat a good book. cd? dvd?

good luck!

mummynoseynora · 10/11/2010 21:34

DCs are nearl 1 and nearly 4 ....

he's got an ipod already...

DVD's is a good one I guess, I just think they're a boring present Confused

I have been mega organised this year and got some really nice things for others, so want something inspired and thoughtful.... not going to happen is it! Grin

oh I did spot some hat thing with speakers in so he wouldn't need to wear earphones - naff or a good idea? He does tend to wear a hat when running?

pillsthrillsandbellyaches · 10/11/2010 21:43

i seen that too!
well, if he wears a hat when running then why not!

truprint do nice personalized calenders and posters.

my hubbys fave author is james lee burke, if he likes thrillers and stuff.

mummynoseynora · 10/11/2010 21:51

DH isn't a big reader... I tried! He's dyslexic (sp?) and finds reading quite hard work...sigh!

Bugger it, will get the hat and a dvd or something?

pongonperdy · 12/11/2010 20:20

Box set of music to run by. He can download them onto his iPod.

taffetacat · 12/11/2010 21:20

what about an audio book he can listen to whilst he runs? My DH doesn't read but likes an audio book.

Stellywelly · 14/11/2010 09:24

If you haven't got expensive telly (freeview like us!) Lovefilm do subscriptions as presents and some of the higher value ones come in a gift box...bit more exciting than an actual DVD?

trumpton · 14/11/2010 09:33

I think membership of Lovefilm is a good idea. The gift that keeps on arriving. What about a subscription to a mag . Altho I do like the hat/haedphones idea.
