The down side of being organised and getting bits throughout the year

He has announced tonight he wants a guitar but having bought all the DCs pressies (DD is 2) there is not much £££ left iyswim.

Any ideas where I can get a cheap guitar??

Don't get him one?

Just an idea.

SleepingLion · 09/11/2010 19:28

Without wishing to sound harsh, does he have to get everything he wants?

DS knows that he gets some of the things he wants, not all of them...

phipps · 09/11/2010 19:28

I saw one yesterday, not much money. How much you got?

simpson · 09/11/2010 19:31

I feel bad as tbh he hasn't asked for anything else.

I just bought him a few bits that I thought he would love iyswim so the guitar is the only thing he has asked for...

Silly me for thinking he was young enough for me to "coach" what he wanted Blush Blush

Oooh phipps I like the first one Smile

I will leave it a wk or so and ask again and see if he remembers what he said I think...

I could always get his granny to get it

How do you explain to DC that although he asked Santa to buy it Granny did instead??

Most of my friends that play guitar (adults) actually started on a Ukelele! Fantastic cheap 4 stringed instruments which are much easier to learn on and are actually coming back into fashion again now. I know some schools that teach whole class ukelele and they love it. Cheap one from your local music shop shouldn't cost more that £15...

domesticsluttery · 10/11/2010 16:07

I was going to suggest a Ukelele too. I bought DH one for his birthday for about £20 and DS2(6) loves it and often plays on it.

JiggeryPoverty · 10/11/2010 16:20

Me too with the Uke suggestion.
