Boys Christmas outfit

Is it just me or is there always a poor selection of christmas outfit for boys (ds will be 3 the week before) the christmas dresses for little girls are lovely but all there ever seems to be is jeans and a cardigan for boys. I would like something red as a top with a christmas motif if possible, ive tried next, monsoon, asda, tesco, mothercare who all seem to have lots of girls outfits but the boys are poor
Any tips appreciated
x

I usually find something festive for ds who is also 3 in Gap, last year he had a really cute penguin top it was so cute hoping they'll be some more this year :)

BHS have nice waistcoat and shirt sets for boys in at mo.

I'd say Gap too - we've had snowmen, etc from there.

Alternatively try looking at American Ebay - they seem to do Christmas outfits more than we do here - and you'll find things like this. Although a lot are not set as shipping to the UK, if you contact the sellers and ask they often will (e.g. this one even says email for an international shipping quote in the listing although it's not listed as available outside the US!) and a single item of clothing isn't that heavy, so postage needn't be too high.

Or this?

For more have a look here - these all have the word "international" in the listing so will probably be ok with posting here.

I'm having the same problem, although DS will be 1 just before Christmas. I have seen a few nice unisex things for babies (plus loads of baby girl christmas outfits), but frustratingly, the ranges seem to stop at 9-12 months, so I'm reluctant to get him something in that size in case he's outgrown it by Christmas!
I have seen the odd party outfit for boys, but I don't like that whole shirt/tie/waistcoat thing, I want my boy to look like a child, not a small man Confused
What's wrong with a nice festive dungarees set?!
Don't have any suggestions, sorry, just wanted to share in your frustrations!

missmolly1 · 02/11/2010 11:59

I want my little boy too to look like a child not a small man, they grow up so quickly and its sad that these clothes retailers dont have any imagination! If i could make something myself i would x

How about this?

mogs0 · 02/11/2010 12:11

I can also recommend Gap. Ds has had a few from there. Also, Gap usually have a 30% off promotion every couple of months so there's bound to be an offer soon.

I find that as Ds gets older the less choice there is for him. Infact, he (who has no real interest in what he wears) even noticed this week that there's not as much choice for him as there is for girls so it must be pretty poor!

missmolly1 · 02/11/2010 12:23

Ooh Lunarsea loving that top!!!! May just have to purchase that, why are us brits so far behind with this eh?
I agree Mogs0 the choice is grim indeed, im fed up of seeing waistcoasts, jeans oh and tracksuits surely they can be a bit more inventive in the design!

Gap have just sent an email about their 30% off promo. Let me know if you want me to forward details! It's available 8th - 14th Nov.

You need to check out Bow & Tie London, they do gorgeous bow ties for toddlers and i have bought 5 from them so far. I always get comments on how trendy my son looks. i think they are on facebook and sell on ebay and folksy.com

i like my kids to look smart, my ds1 will be wearing skinny jeans and the cutest little shirt and tie i bought from next, my youngest has a matching outfit but i'v bought him a knitted romper with a star on since he is still a baby however he will only be in it for half an hour until he sicks up his milk all over it lol courtesy of dad throwing him around the room like a nerf ball lol men pfft

celebmum · 08/12/2011 09:17

I bought DS (nearly2) a lovely knitted navy, red & White Christmas jumper from primark! We don't have one near us so when I do get to go (very rare!) I get a bit excited! Grin
It's not a a 'cheapy' type one either IYKWIM, well for primark it was £9! Grin

Annoying isn't it, regarding lovely girl's things and boring boy's things. I find it a bit of an issue all year but annoys me more at Christmas.
DS is 2, last year he had a gorgeous set off eBay, it was American, and had a red tank top with a reindeer on it. It was lovely! This year I ordered early from macy's in America and he has a lovely tank top with penguins on it and a jumper with a dinosaur all tangled in Christmas fairy lights. They are by a company called greendog and weren't very expensive but the shipping bumped the cost up.
However, debenhams also have some boy's Christmas jumpers and tops I noticed. They are quite nice and I think there was a red one. I find anything nice for boys sells quickly as there is not that much of it! I get a bit despondent with boy's clothes and because DS is big got age (in 3-4 trousers and 4-5 tops) we are already stuck with skulls and army prints.
