Ideas for my brother..?

I've wracked my brains over this and I usually steal loads of good ideas from MN so I'm going to throw this out to the jury i think.

DH and I always buy for our siblings as we love them dearly but my DB is proving tricky. Can go to around 20-30 quid on him but I need ideas..

He's a chef but in live in accomodation so not much space in his room etc.
He's a major festival goer and also goes out on his bike a lot enjoys the countryside.

He loves festivals and is really friends orientated, and possibly a bit of a hippy!

In the past he's asked for ordanance survey maps of his area to explore the countryside etc. Last year I made him a festival survival kit with loads of stuff in it.

I've done geocaching in the past and thought maybe he'd like to do it when out and about but I cant stretch to a GPS unit...

help...anyone...

What kind of cycling does he like? Road or MTB or CycloX, leisure or competition? I'll see if I can think of something along those lines.

ragged errrrr i'll pretend I know what on earth you are asking me and just say he has a mountain bike..he gets on it and rides off! Not competitions and certainly no swanky bike. Just a means of exploring I think.

He's in the new forest so he's really interested in the area. Like he deliberatly gets lost in the woods..the loon.

wellies is a great idea too actually and he is known to sport some really absurd hats etc.

In the past I've bought him those LED version of fire chains before as he was learning those..oh and he paints quite a lot and has sold a fair bit of his work.

What about an interesting book on places or history of the New Forest?

For mountain bikers: Heart rate monitor. Cool jersey, Arm Warmers (these are handier than you can imagine!), Chain-cleaning kit (I've always wanted to try one)

or even just a Gift Voucher for Wiggle.

Has he got a computer for his bike? I bought one for my DH (we do lots of cycling in the New Forest) and it's really useful - has a mileometer and speedometer - it doesn't need to be one of the fancy ones. DH loves his. Try here

been off looking at stuff suggested.. bike stuff may all be a bit techie but the computer is good as he had one as a kid, wondering whether that means he may have one already.

Also found festival 2009 book which is full of photos of festivals which may appeal to his arty side too. Or then there is a dvd subscription which is boring but im thinking he is cooped up in a tiny room quite a lotso he must have a lot of nights in.
