So that others will not make the same mistakes as me...!

The completely crap Illumination Station has to take the biggest prize. It was played on twice, dd1 then went back to her normal trusty pen box and paper whilst the Illumination Station has gathered dust on her wardrobe for 10 months now

plus cheapo shitty mp3 player that has approximately 3 nanuseconds of life before the batteries give out

Littlest pet shop stocking fillers - I keep finding minute kittens in strange crevices

Amything that is bought on the strength of a advert on commercial tv has to be a contender actually...

Golden coin maker
Tooth Fairy Game
Elefun! Nightmare toy if ever there was one.

ComeWhineWithMe · 28/10/2010 18:11

The perfume factory was very good I thought it would be shit.

FlyingInTheCLouds · 28/10/2010 18:15

Dancing - playmobile Shock they love it, literally hours and hours of our second hand box of playmobile stuff.

DancingIceDragons · 28/10/2010 18:51

I have some that ds hasnt really ever played with. He has had it nearly 2 years. He is more of a lego boy. All that technical flinging of monsters Hmm Mind you i think that is the worst buy when i stand on it at 3am Grin

which reminds me must find his and stick on ebay.

DancingIceDragons · 28/10/2010 18:51

Playmobile that is.

beccagrace2 · 28/10/2010 19:37

playmobile needs glueing together i think, we have the plane (nightmare with huge wings, lives on top shelf) and pirate ship, lots missing but played with even tho it has no sails etc. if we get any more i will stick it together before giving it!

emmab5 · 28/10/2010 19:44

Agree with other posters - the golden chocolate coin maker is awful

Also password journal DD never could get the bloody thing to open!

Bunbaker · 28/10/2010 19:44

After three consecutive Christmases of DD asking for a Wii, we bought one last year. It has been used a handful of times and has spent most of this year in the loft. I got it out the other day, determined that we would use it, only to find that the batteries won't charge up so I have to buy some new onesSad

MunchMummy · 28/10/2010 19:53

Best - WOW toys - no batteries needed, very sturdy and they (DDs, 4 and 2) have played with them every week since Xmas.

Worst - moonsand. DD1 (4) loves it, but oh, the mess. So its kept as an outside toy only in the summer and we open it out onto a tray to try and contain the mess.

MNTotoro · 29/10/2010 09:39

Bunbaker - you need to Wii to be out all the time or of course they wont play it. Most kids really enjoy them...

MNTotoro · 29/10/2010 09:40

Worst buy - glittery tinkerbell thing. Ghastly. The glitter is the finest stuff ever and hangs around for weeks.

Best buy - polly pocket, playmobil

StarExpat · 29/10/2010 09:57

Is moon dough better than moon sand? I bought some moon dough and am now considering giving it away if it causes that much of a mess!

pooter · 29/10/2010 10:05

That Plastic garage that folds into a wheel shaped carry case - it is a pile of crapola. IOmposible to fold away without destroying it, and it takes a good half hour to set up again, plus the fact that it is just not much fun to play with.

Not good enough to dontate to charity or freecycle even. They are in Tesco at the moment - AVOID

Bunbaker · 29/10/2010 17:47

"Bunbaker - you need to Wii to be out all the time or of course they wont play it. Most kids really enjoy them."

It was out all the time and still didn't get played with. All but one of DD's friends just aren't Wii fans. We put it in the loft when we went on holiday and forgot to get it back out again. OH and I aren't interested in the Wii either which doesn't help.

Having said that both DD and OH have expressed an interest in games that they say they will play. So I will buy them for Christmas and hopefully we will get more use out of it.

kimbles1984 · 29/10/2010 18:25

pooter almost bought that garage today for my 4 year old, glad i didnt bother now Smile

Bunbaker · 29/10/2010 18:30

When DD asks for something she has seen advertised on TV I usually look up the customer reviews on Amazon or Argos. I find it is a good way to put her off if it has bad reviews. She wanted the golden coin maker, but it was absolutely slated, so I'm glad I didn't bother.

whomovedmychocolate · 29/10/2010 18:35

I just took back to the shops a crisp maker someone bought for DD. It just looks shit and I just know it's the latest version of the chocolate coin maker. Hmm

Worst buy was a fecking fairy barbie, the wings fall off every time she flips her skirt up to show them. Hmm

PfftTheMildySpookyDragon · 29/10/2010 18:45

Playmobil is the best buy in this house.

Hot Wheels is the biggest load of shit. We "lost" it when we moved house.

PfftTheMildySpookyDragon · 29/10/2010 18:46

bunbaker - well, if you will keep it in the loft WinkGrin

zanz1bar · 29/10/2010 18:51

Nothing can beat the hell that is the Golden Coin Maker.

worldgonemad72 · 29/10/2010 22:12

I once got my dd that cupcake maker, biggest pile of rubbish ever and the cakes were vile, was used once then given to a charity shop.

thisiswhataluv · 30/10/2010 08:36
