I'm after some ideas for DVDs for my niece. We don't see her very often as my brother has access problems with his ex, so as a result don't know what she has at the moment.

Wondered if anybody could recommend some films that their 8yo loves, which might not be currently top 10, so less chance she will already have them? TIA.

My 7.5 yr old dd loves Parent Trap - the Lindsey Lohan remake, Nim's Island, Spy Kids, 101 Dalmations and other corny stuff Also likes Bolt, The Incredibles, Nanny McPhee - I could go on for ages! She used to really enjoy Annie, mary Poppins, chitty chitty bang bang etc but we've not watched those for ages!

ValiumSkeleton · 24/10/2010 20:57

oh yes, good suggestions madamy, my dd loves Chitty chitty, The sound of music! The rail way children.

Haven't got Mary Poppins or 101 Dalmations. The old ones are often really good value on amazon. I never buy anything in the top 10 and when my dd has friends over they love her dvds because it's stuff they haven't ALL got and seen.

DD (just turned 8) also loves Nims Island, the Spy Kids series (all three of them), The Princess Diaries (1 & 2), Matilda, Nanny McPhee (1 & 2), Cats and Dogs, Firehouse Dog, Hotel for Dogs, Shaggy Dog (yes, she's a dog fan).

brilliant, thanks so much for all of the suggestions. I was hoping for the less popular ones, as less chance she already has them. will have a browse now, great Smile
